It has been a mental few weeks - my mum and sister were on holidays in America for 4 weeks and towards the end of their trip I was really missing them - they help out a lot with our 3 little munchkins. I have no idea how people have kids without their families close by for support!
On top of that a research project I'd been working on at uni for almost a year was due and there was lots left to do at the end, it was a little more last minute than we'd hoped - but the main thing is that it's now finalised and handed in. One day we hope to get it published, but we need to do a little bit more work on it beforehand and that is going to have to wait a little bit before I'm ready to look at it again.
But now we've come through the other side. We've had a week for things to get back to normal, catch up on some sleep and regain some level of control of the house. Plus although I only have 2 subjects and some professional practice left to go before I've got my masters, I've decided to defer uni for next semester. I needed a break, and it works well with Emmy anyway because I don't really want to be looking for a job until she's a little older - so I'm going to take my time with the last 2 subjects and do them over 2013. I am really enjoying the study, but I feel like a ton of pressure has been taken off with that decision.
And mum and my sister are home! Amongst all the goodies they brought back with them (we were very spoiled) I got some amazing presents from Anthropologie. I'm already eye-ing off some recipes in the people's pops book and think that even though it's winter I might have to give some of them a go - rhubarb and jasmine, strawberry and balsamic. Yum.
This plate matches my wallpaper that I'm now too nervous to try and hang. Has anyone done this before? It comes pre-pasted so I just have to wet it, but should I get someone else to do it for me or do it myself? And the random door knobs are to dress up a chest of drawers in Polly's room, now I just have to decide which ones to pair together - I can't really do random random, I do planned random if you know what I mean :)
I'm feeling the need to make a pretty cake to stick on top of that plate.
Such prettiness, I have a pretty good mum and sister :)
