Kind of fell of the wagon there, if you read often you'll know why. But I'm back and there's only three more days to go.
So Thursday was a pretty typical kind of day for us (read not very exciting!). It started as they all do, with three kids joining us in bed. Thankfully the sun has been out again lately, we were missing it. Then downstairs for our typical 'warm brekkie' - warmed up weetbix.
After brekky we had to wake Emmy up to pile everyone in the car and drop Matilda off at day care after which I was getting a bit desperate and committed a coffee sin by driving through maccas to get a coffee. We were running late, Matilda didn't want to go and when I eventually hopped in the car I was greeted by no petrol which made us even more late. A late day care drop off often means the kids have finished playing outside and are in having morning tea or doing some other organised activity and that makes the drop off worse because Matilda gets a bit nervous about joining in whereas when everyone is outside still, she'll run in, find some friends and be happy. Coffee was definitely in order and with two other kids in the car, Emilia asleep again by now (and still in her pajamas) drive through can be a blessing!
When we got back home Emilia was still asleep and I didn't want to wake her up again so I hung out in the garage, cleaning it up a little bit. Polly played just inside the front door - which is also the playroom until she woke up again. Polly loves playtime on Thursdays because she has the run of the toys and doesn't have her big sister here to boss her around. But usually by lunch time, or just after her sleep she's asking where Matilda is and wants to go and pick her up.

We hung out at home for a bit. Emmy had a bath, Polly did some hula-hooping. Then it was back in the car to go and visit my Grandma who I haven't seen in a couple of months and get Polly a hair cut.

Our first attempt at a hair cut failed because Polly had fallen asleep in the car on the way there. When I got her out of the car and carried her into the salon she cracked it and wouldn't go near there so we decided to head straight to my Grandma's and try the hair cut again on the way home.
Luckily my Dad had also decided to drop into Ma's because he was out that way for work and he did such a good job of cheering Polly up that the second attempt at the hair cut was successful. That may also have had something to do with the lollypop the hairdresser offered as a bribe.
So in the car again, post hair cut, and this time I dropped Polly and Emilia off at my mum + dad's house before going to pick up Matilda from day care. I can't believe how much faster pick up is when I'm by myself.
By the end of the day I felt like I'd spent so much time in the car and that's tiring, so it was nice to be heading to mum + dad's house for dinner and not have to worry about cooking anything myself.
My girls love going to Granny and Pa's house for dinner. Especially when Aunty C is there to give them a bath and hang out in pajamas together. I love going to Granny and Pa's for dinner too - night off cooking and bathtime!
Just your run of the mill being a mum day.
Wednesday, Tuesday, Monday, Sunday.
