It doesn't really look like it... but it was very grey, rainy and windy outside.
So we hung out in bed for as long as possible. Matilda and Polly watching abc on the tablet and Emmy just hanging out.
I couldn't face the idea of spending another in the house with the kids trashing the place and fighting with each other so I decided that although it might be crazy I was going to take all three girls to the movies, in school holiday time, all by myself. Yes, mad.
We actually did ok though, although we were running late and the movie had already started. I say movie - but we ended up going to Dora and Diego on the big screen which is really just an episode of both so not really a movie. The girls had fun and an hour was a pretty good time limit for them to sit in a movie theatre. Emilia slept in the baby bjorn the whole time. They did so well in fact that I pushed it and decided to stay out for lunch - not my smartest idea ever.
At least by the time we got home Polly and Emilia were ready for a sleep, so the house was calm for a little while. While they slept Matilda decided she wanted to have a go of my computer so I showed her how to use the mouse and she was entertained playing games and watching videos on abc for kids for awhile. Not sure where I'd be without abc for kids! Apparently there's nothing better that playing computer while dressed as a princess.
When Polly woke up we decided it was time for hot chocolates - or chocolate cinos as Matilda and Polly call them - and afternoon tea. We held a 4th birthday party planning meeting over afternoon tea. No more mummy picking birthday party ideas, Matilda has very definite ideas and not surprisingly it has to be pink and it has to be princess.
And after all that the playroom was still trashed by the end of the day and Matilda and Polly were fighting over who had what toy - obviously there's not enough toys here to go around.
To stop the fighting and the 5pm whinging session I decided it was bath time in the laundry tubs - the laundry is on the same floor as our living room and sometimes it's too hard to get upstairs to the bathroom while one is playing and Emilia is asleep. These two big girls are funny though, even though they had been fighting within about a minute of Polly being in the bath, Matilda had decided she didn't want to play with the toys anymore and was standing in front of Polly making jokes and telling stories.
They went to bed pretty quickly after dinner!
Tuesday, Monday, Sunday.
