7 weeks, 7 days: Monday

Monday is usually a pretty hectic day in our household.  Matilda and Polly are off to day care and I go to work with Emmy.  But this week, we had a public holiday so things were a lot more low key.

I'd love to be posting about something lovely day trip, or exciting activity we'd done to make the most of our public holiday, but the reality is much more boring!

We did all enjoy a bit of a sleep in but got going eventually, and then someone crashed my shower.  It's pretty hard to say no to this little girl at time.

Then the plan was to drop the girls at mum + dad's or a little bit while G and I went to get something fixed on our new (to us) car.  A trip to mum + dad's means Matilda needs to pack up her princess gear, because you just can't leave home without it.

A trip to mum + dads also generally means we get side-tracked and end up spending more time there then we had really planned on.  There's always more exciting things to do at their house than back at home.  Like helping out my sister pack for her holiday to New York, she's leaving on Saturday with my mum.  For 4 weeks.  I'm very jealous and am sending them with a big shopping list to compensate.

And making cubby houses in mine + my sister's old bunk beds.

Finally back home and G was in charge for awhile, which meant hanging out and watching more Little House on the Prairie.   G and Matilda have been read two of the books now and so now we've been watching some episodes from the series.  Matilda is loving it.  Emmy was more interested in G and Matilda, and I think by this point Polly had wandered off to play with some of her toys.

And while G and all the girls were having fun, I was madly trying to get an assignment finished.  I now have only one more report due (on July 8th) and then I've decided to defer next semester and start again in the new year (why did I think I could do uni with a newborn??).  Only 2 more subjects left though and I'll have my masters.  Yay!

Finally, we had a dinner guest join us.  Matilda's 'pet' puppy had to come and eat his dinner next to our table with us, he was lonely apparently in the play room.

And that was Monday, gone in a flash!

Sunday.
