Tick tock

Days are turning into weeks and weeks into months without me even realising it at the moment. Days and weeks of cuddles, feeding and sleeping for the little one and drawing, reading and walks to the park with the big girl whenever we get the chance.

Peaceful

My big girl who is about to turn 2... I can't believe it, cheeky little thing. Time to start the party planning, although we are only celebrating small this year - we have decided that big parties are only for every second year.

Almost 2

First of all though I had to finish Polly's birth announcements and thank you notes, I finally printed them out today. Now to finish writing on them and print out labels for the envelopes. Baby steps!

4 weeks old today

I can barely believe it, but my little Polly is already 4 weeks old.  It only feels like we left the hospital about 3 or 4 days ago.

4 weeks old today

She's a cute little thing and she's grown so much already, she's wearing clothes now that Matilda wore when she was about 4 months old!  I don't know why but I get the impression from her that she's going to be a funny little thing, she seems a bit cheeky to me.

She is sleeping fantastically well at night time.. often sleeping from midnight through until around 5am and her day time sleeps are still pretty good too although it's taking a bit of work to get her to sleep now.

I have even managed to get a little bit of stuff done during her naps, and I've made a couple of little presents for some Melbourne friends who have just had babies.

One for a new little girl.

And one for a new little boy.

Another little present

Red + Blue

Back in the good old days when I lived and worked in Melbourne I worked in a team of 4 girls.  We were all pretty close and went through marriages, a divorce and a new partner while we all worked together and we are still friends.  Now we're all having babies together, within about 5 weeks of each other.  For two of us it's our second and then one first and one third.  We're just waiting for the last one to be born any day now.

At times like this I wish I could have my Brisbane life and family together with parts of our Melbourne lifestyle and all our friends...

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

Thanks everyone for your comments about Polly, I can't believe she's almost 1 month old.  We have had G's family visiting from Melbourne and staying with us so that seemed to make time go faster.  Now that everyone has gone home though and G has been back at work for about 10 days we are slowly getting into a little routine.

I am missing the chance to pick up the camera and take photos though so hopefully we'll be able to squeeze some of that in soon.

Meanwhile as I'm often sitting on the couch feeding these days while trying to keep Matilda happy we've been checking out a few classics, and Matilda is absolutely in love with Chitty Chitty Bang Bang - we mainly just flick through to all the songs.

She dances and sings (which is quite funny) all around the living room while I am busy.

I love the kids bathing costumes.. lucky I didn't have 1 little girl and 1 little boy or they may have been forced to wear something like these.  Too cute.
