What I've been up to...

This is why Christmas gets here so fast, it's been 2 weeks since my last post and I feel like it was a couple of days ago.

I have been doing a little Christmas sewing, one little pencil roll anyway.  But I am not too stressed, yet!

And we're still getting through birthdays around here. Yesterday we celebrated my little cousin's 4th birthday party in their local park.

We went to a birthday party

We had lots of fun running around, playing cricket and boccee and swinging on swings.

I decided Matilda had nothing suitable to wear to a park party on a hot November day so I finally made this dress I've been wanting to try for awhile.

Blowing kisses in her new dress

It's a little bit big, but I think if I adjust the straps it will be all good. It's also a lot more pink and cutsie than normal but I loved the Japanese material in the main dress so much (I bought it awhile ago from Funky Fabrix) and pink just seemed to go so well with it, so pink it is.

My mum's birthday is on Tuesday and my sister's is on Wednesday and then it's full steam ahead on Christmas.

We also celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary last week and G bought me some beautiful peonies, I think we made a wise decision getting married in peony season despite the heat and storms.

3 more weeks until we head off for Melbourne for Christmas, I am going to try posting a lot more regularly again for those 3 weeks at least. (That also means 3 more weeks until my 20 week scan eek, but then we find out if we're having a pink or blue bean, yay! Just before Christmas too - picking names should be a good topic to discuss on our 3 day drive down to Melbourne).

Super cute fabric pencil roll, I love the fabrics you choose, they work well together. Your little girls dress is just gorgeous and the cake looks fantastic, I love making birthday cakes. Beautiful flowers and Happy 4 year Anniversary to you both.

I saw this on Giver's Log and had to come check you out! I'm super excited about the pencil roll! They would be great Christmas gifts for all my neices and nephews! And it looks like something even I could tackle! Thanks for sharing.
