We've lost our internet connection after the storms that hit Brisbane on Sunday, and they're going to be out for the rest of the week. So my slow getting back into blogging is going to be put on hold again for a few days.

Then on Friday we get the keys to our new house and we're moving in on the weekend so it might be a few days before we have a connection on there.

So... see you again soon. From my very own house! (Yay!)

In the mean time Hey Bubbles has a pretty new look for summer (well I think so anyway).

PS To my 2 swap partners - I'm so sorry I haven't posted my items to you yet, they are ready to go but they got packed in a box by mistake so now I have to find them and get them out to post. They will get there though. SORRY!

And thanks everyone for the birthday wishes... A new house should be a good way to start a new decade I think.

30

I turned thirty yesterday, not sure how I feel about that. I am not really bothered by it, but almost feel like maybe I should be. I was given a beautiful bunch of peonies so that makes any day a good day if you ask me.

We had birthday cake and presents in the afternoon and dinner at a nice restaurant later on.

Matilda was such a good girl at dinner, although she didn't really fall asleep for long. She doesn't seem to be the kind of girl who wants to miss anything, and if she does happen to fall asleep don't try and put her down in the stroller because then she knows for sure she's missing out on something and will wake up - bright as a button again. Luckily there were plenty of arms willing to hold her while we took turns eating.

29 was a big year - moving, new job, house dramas and a new baby. I'm looking forward to my 30th year and to settling in to this new life we have made for ourselves, finding our new rhythm.

And next Friday (all things going to plan) I'll get one of the best presents of all - keys to our new house! Yay!

Adding to my wish list...

These side plates from Mozi, how pretty would they look at Christmas time with all white plates? I also think I'd like some of their regular side plates too.. in all the different patterns, just for those times when your table needs some prettying up.

This new Amy Butler book, Little Stitches. This book looks so beautiful, I think I'd like to sew everything in here for Matilda. That probably also means I need to add free time to my wish list :)

And I've been meaning to show & tell for awhile now some pretty presents I received recently from my Aunty who had been on holidays to the UK. Cath Kidston sewing accessories! So cute. And also a brooch from CK, I think I'm going to have to buy a nice red coat next winter for this to go with. Thanks Aunty B!

At this time of year, I really should be working on lists of presents to give away, not to buy for myself. Oh well!

Photos from Mozi, Amy Butler and Cath Kidston.

Yay for Obama!

Meanwhile, as Americans woke up to vote we were enjoying hosting a Melbourne Cup luncheon, with little plush horseys for place names.

Coconut custard with mango or chocolate pavlovas with homemade raspberry ripple ice cream for desert.

I had to work today and it poured rain in Brisbane, I would have preferred hanging out at home watching the US election coverage... but it was not to be.
