Happy Father's Day!

It was our first Father's Day this year so of course we had to frame a picture of 7 week old Matty for a present.

We think she looks cute in red so I made her a pair of red gingham bloomers and we went out into the sunlight for her photo shoot.

It turned out to be too bright outside and all the photos were a bit over exposed with her face was in shadow, so we ditched them. Luckily we had also taken some photos of her just in some casual gear inside and they turned out to be pretty cute.

This one was picked as the winner...

We decided to frame the photo with her hand prints to frame, but that was too hard because her hands are always in a fist so we went with foot prints instead. And this is how it ended up

I was pretty happy with it.

Sorry for all the baby posts, I'll get over it soon enough. But first, I need to do a Baby Shower Swap update - so that's tomorrow - and then we'll blog about some non-baby stuff, promise!

And on the bloomer thing.. can I just say I am a very average beginner sewer and these things are so easy to make and use less than 0.5m of material for baby ones and can be done in about half an hour. Which makes me really glad I got into sewing when I see these ones advertised in an online baby boutique for $24.95 and I know you can get that apple material at spotlight for about $5/meter. $24.95!!!

Thank you notes

We've been busy here trying to get our thank you notes written for all the beautiful presents we received for Matilda. But it takes a long time when you only get to write about 5 in a sitting. We'll get there though.

We were given so many beautiful things for her that there's no way I'll be able to take photos of all of them. She received lots of beautiful outfits, toys, books, blankets and other bits and pieces. Here are a few of them:

A dress from one of my best friends living in London. I had been looking for a nice white linen dress for her baptism as well so this will be perfect!

A lovely blanket from some cousins in Melbourne.

Even a present for me from the girls I used to work with in Melbourne, and when she's old enough I'll be able to give this necklace to Matilda.

And just because I can't a post without a photo of her, another photo of our little Matty. 7 weeks old already.
